Russian Roulette, 2008, was the 25th anniversary project of Lea Anderson's dance companies The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs. Inspired, in part, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky's 'The Gambler', the project took the form of six shows, choreographed and performed over a tight ten week period. Saunders played improvised guitar and assisted musical director Steve Blake with musical structure. All music was improvised within broadly set parameters. The ensemble included, among others, pioneering UK improvisors such as Steve Beresford, John Edwards, Pat Thomas and Mark Sanders. The 'residency' took place at London's legendary queer club Royal Vauxhall Tavern with design by Simon Vincenzi.
